| 2535 Collingwood Blvd | Collingwood Boulevard is often referred to as the boulevard of churches. Clearly, the largest church on Collingwood is Rosary Cathedral, the mother Church of the Catholic faith in Toledo. Construction began in 1925 and was completed in 1931. It was designed with Toledo’s sister city in Spain in mind.
Original plans called for two towers to complement the design but money was tight by 1931 and the idea of the towers was abandoned. Overall cost to build the cathedral in 1925 was $3.2 million. In today’s dollars that would be about $90 million.
I've decided to show only an exterior view to challenge you to go inside if you have never visited this church. It is, in my opinion, the most beautiful building in Northwest Ohio.
