| 1035 North Superior Street | In 1984, a Task Force of community women met to address the needs of homeless women and children in Toledo.  The result of this effort was the founding of a transitional housing shelter called Aurora House in 1985. Sister Dorothy Nussbaum was named the first Executive Director and Aurora House opened at its original site located on St. Clair Street on September 24, 1986.

Today, Aurora Project, Inc. on Superior hosts a comprehensive housing and life skills program that empowers homeless women and their children to achieve self sufficiency and independence by providing resources and skills in a supportive and safe environment.
