I have been very lucky to meet some remarkable local historians over the years.  From Barbara Floyd of the University of Toledo's Ward M. Canaday Center, East Toledo's Larry Michaels, Donna Christian of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, Ted Ligibel of Eastern Michigan University, to one of my all-time favorite storytellers, Fred Folger.  I  can honestly say I have relished listening to their presentations and reading their research materials ever since my wife and I moved here in 1988.  That's essentially how I developed the content to host this tour – by absorbing the presentations and books of local historians in order to learn how to tell the Toledo story.

I've thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to study and research the history of this wonderful community I am proud to call home.  I hope you enjoy your own journey into our past.
